Sarah Claussen comes to Priority Family Medical Clinic with over 11 years of experience. She understands the importance of providing quality medical care to our community and is always ready to help. Her background consists of long-term care/geriatrics, surgical, and acute care medicine.
Sarah started her medical career in 2008 as a student nurse at the Prescott VA hospital. She graduated from Yavapai College in December 2009 with her Associates Degree in nursing as an RN. Afterwards, she decided to further her education and received her BSN in nursing at Northern Arizona University in December 2012. In August 2014, Sarah graduated with her Master’s in Nursing Education (at Grand Canyon University) and decided to work at Yavapai College as a nursing instructor in the nursing department for several years. She enjoyed teaching brand new nursing students and loved helping them reach their goals in becoming an RN. During this time, she also worked part time at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in the cardiac catheterization lab and float pool to keep her skills and expertise current and up to date. In 2018, she decided to go back to school and further her education, and in May 2019, she graduated as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Northern Arizona University and started working in family practice in Prescott, Arizona. Her goal is to continue to her education, and she plans on going back in the next year to obtain her Doctorate in Nursing while continuing to work in primary care.
When Sarah is not working and taking care of her patients, she spends time at home with her family. Her husband, Spencer, is also a nurse practitioner here in town. They have been married for over 14 years and have 3 children.
